Tom Morgan grew up near Towson, Maryland. After high school, he traveled west to California, where he immersed himself in wilderness travel, natural history, ethnobotany, and primitive skills while pursuing a Literature degree from UC, Santa Cruz. After college, he studied ecopoetics and postmodern poetry at Naropa University, where he earned an M.F.A. degree in Writing and Poetics. Since graduate school, he has led wilderness trips throughout the U.S. and Mexico and has taught high school English. Currently, he teaches at Proctor Academy in Andover, New Hampshire, where he lives with his wife, Molly. Along with Tyler Doherty, he is the co-editor of the anthology For the Time Being: The Bootstrap Book of Poetic Journals (Bootstrap Press 2007).
